2019 Budget will be focused on elections
United People’s Freedom Alliance Parliamentarian Vasudeva Nanayakkara says the next budget will be an election-focused document.
MP Nanayakkara said the United National Party should reveal its mechanism of providing concessions to the public while repaying massive loan instalment.
He said in order to face an impending election, the government will dole out concessions adding that, these concessions are only short term allowances.
MP Nanayakkara claimed the government just a couple of months ago claimed that concessions cannot be provided citing a massive debt burden.
The Parliamentarian accordingly said it was not possible for the government to launch pragmatic programs to provide concessions.
MP Vasudeva Nanayakkara said his faction will face the forthcoming election through a mega-alliance.
He said the alliance will be lead by former President Mahinda Rajapaksa with the support of President Maithripala Sirisena.
