Fees chargeable on issuing foreign passports have been increased from today (31st).
The Immigration and Emigration Department states that these charges have been raised according to the 2019 budget.
Accordingly, the new rates are as follows:
- The normal service charge of Rs. 3,000 would be up to Rs. 3,500.
- The one-day service charge of Rs. 10,000 is up to Rs. 15,000.
- Normal service charges for children under the age of 16 from Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 2,000.
- One day service charges for children below 16 years of age are increased from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 7,000.
