World Children’s Day falling today
World Children’s Day falls today. The representation of children and the elderly in a country’s population is significant. Children are the future of a country.
Adults are a great help in shaping that future. In that sense, both children and adults are an asset to a country. That is why International Days are set aside for children and adults.
World Children’s Day or Universal Children’s Day is celebrated in all countries of the world, giving priority to the protection of children’s rights as the greatest duty of all mankind. This World Children’s Day is celebrated on different days of the year in each country. World Children’s Day, which began on the second Sunday in June 1856, is celebrated around the world on various days such as the first of June, the twentieth of November, etc., and World Children ‘s Day is celebrated in Sri Lanka on the 1st of October.
World Children’s Day was first celebrated around the world on October 1, 1955. World Elderly Day is also celebrated on the 1st of October.
In developed countries the population over the age of 65 is considered as the aging population and in developing countries like ours the population over the age of 60 is considered as the aging population. The population of a country is classified into three main categories: the population of children from birth to 14 years of age, the population of 15 to 59 years of age as the labor force, and the population of over 60 as the elderly population.
The child population represents future producers. Today, the direct contributors to the economy are the workforce. Retirement age is the old age community. Today the child population is declining and the aging population is gradually increasing. The main reason for this is the increase in life expectancy at birth.
The age group can also be identified in the elderly population and the 60-70 age group represents the majority of the elderly population. The majority of them are in good health and have good efficiency.
Compared to the older population of other ages, they are an economically viable group. They should be thought of as an asset to the country. After retirement, many adults are often sickened by the stress of having nothing to do.
No matter how much we talk about children and adults, there are children and adults all over the world who are helpless without proper care. We have taken many steps for the welfare of children and adults in our country while protecting the rights of children and the elderly.
Today is International Children’s Day and International Day of the Elderly, a day to pay tribute to the little ones who are striving to thrive in the future and to the adult community who have spent the middle of their lives sweating for the betterment of the world of children and fulfilling their best wishes ..!
