Four more corona deaths: Nearly 13,000 cured
Two women and two men were reported dead at midnight yesterday from a corona infection. The dead were two women aged 27 and 59 and two men aged 70 and 86.
The 27-year-old woman who was admitted to the Mulleriyawa Hospital after being identified as a corona patient at the Colombo National Hospital has died while receiving treatment. The cause of death of a resident of Colombo 15 was an exacerbated liver disease due to corona infection.
A 59-year-old woman from Pokunuwita in the Kalutara district has died at her home. The Government Information Department said she died of a chest infection and high blood pressure caused by a corona infection.
The other victim was a 70 year old resident of Colombo 10. He died after being admitted to a private hospital in Colombo. The cause of death was pneumonia associated with corona infection.
The other 86-year-old man who died at home died of a chest infection caused by a corona infection, the Government Information Department said. He is a resident of Haltota, Kalutara District.
With this the number of deaths due to corona infection in the country has increased to 73 stated the Government Information Department.
Meanwhile, another 437 corona infections were identified yesterday. They belong to the Peliyagoda Corona cluster. The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health states that the number of corona infections in the country is 18,841.
The number of patients treated in hospitals for the virus is 5865. Meanwhile, 316 corona infected people were cured yesterday. At the same time the number of corona patients cured in the country is 12903.
