JVP reveals an unholy alliance
The JVP says the Maithripala Sirisena-Mahinda Rajapaksa faction has expressed its desire to form a caretaker government only after failing to garner the support of the majority in Parliament.
Speaking during a media briefing this morning JVP Parliamentarian Vijitha Herath said the country is experiencing a political crisis as a result of an attempt by the President and Mahinda Rajapaksa to fulfil personal agendas.
MP Herath noted President Maithripala Sirisena wanted to once again run for Presidency while Mahinda Rajapaksa wanted to withdraw cases filed against corruption, theft and frauds.
The Parliamentarian stressed the group planned to somehow gather more than 113 and establish a government with it thieves adding however it was a failure and they are therefore struggling.
MP Herath meanwhile requested the President to establish a Presidential Commission and probe into corruption deals during his tenure as the head of the government and punish all those accused according to the report compiled by the Commission.
