Bulk Sale Of Kerosene Oil To Vehicles Banned
The Ministry Petroleum has banned the bulk sale of Kerosene oil to vehicles, commercial entities and to other large containers from immediate effect.
The Ministry of Petroleum Resources Development in a statement said, a circular has been issued in this regard and noted that all fuel stations have been informed of the ban.
The ban has been imposed due to the Ministry receiving complaints regarding certain owners of fuel stations attempting to gain large profits by supplying kerosene oil to factories.
Complaints have also been lodged against owners reportedly contaminating crude oil with kerosene and diesel.
The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation incurs a loss of 30 rupees per litre of kerosene oil.
The subject Ministry revealed the permit of fuel stations engaged in such malpractices will be cancelled.
