The Cabinet has decided to suspend work related to the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Agreements.
Addressing a press conference to announce the cabinet decisions, Co-Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Bandula Gunawardena stated that a four-member committee has been appointed to study the agreement.
The committee comprises Dr. Lalith Gunaruwan of the University of Colombo, Architect Nalaka Jayaweera, former Secretary to the Ministry of Transport D.S. Jayaweera and President’s Counsel Nihal Jayawardena.
Accordingly, the Committee will be tasked with conducting a study of the M.C.C. agreement and submitting a report to the Cabinet.
