Chinese woman infected with coronavirus continues to receive treatment at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, Angoda under special treatment and safety measures.
The health ministry said her condition was not serious.
A 43-year-old Chinese woman who was visiting Sri Lanka from Hubei Province, China, was admitted to the Angoda Infectious Diseases Institute on the 25th.
Her blood sample was confirmed to be infected with coronavirus.
In 2003, 26 countries around the world were infected with the SARS virus, which is known to be a virus in the same category as the corona virus.
The SARS virus lost nearly 700 lives during that period.
Professor Malik Peiris, professor of microbiology at the University of Hong Kong, who exposed the virus to the world, said the new coronavirus was not as serious as the SARS virus.
