South Asia’s tallest tower, the Colombo Lotus Tower (Nelum Kuluna), will be opened by President Maithripala Sirisena tomorrow.
The 17-storey tower is 350 meters high. The total cost of the project is US $ 104 million. 80% of this is built with loan assistance from China.

Meanwhile, the Postal Department of Sri Lanka has decided to issue a commemorative stamp to mark the opening of the Lotus Tower.
Postmaster General Ranjith Ariyaratne said that a new commemorative stamp, a souvenir and a first day cover would be issued tomorrow.
