The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says remarks made by foreign entities pertaining to the appointment of Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva as the Commander of the Army, are unacceptable.
Issuing a statement, the Foreign Ministry said the appointment of the Army Commander of Sri Lanka was a sovereign decision by the Head of State.
The Ministry stressed the attempts of foreign entities to influence the decisions on the administrative processes and internal promotions of the public service in Sri Lanka were unwarranted and unacceptable.
