Court is only likely to receive the report on the voice samples obtained from Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundara, over the alleged VVIP assassination plot in two weeks.
Government Analyst A Welianga said the voice sample are being tested at the department at present.
The voice sample was ordered by courts in a bid to determine whether the IGP’s voice was also recorded in records of phone conversations retrieved from the mobile phone belonging to the Operations Director Anti Corruption Force Namal Kumara.
Following court directives, IGP Pujith Jayasundara appeared before the government analyst to present a voice sample.
Meanwhile President Maithripala Sirisena in parliament said details pertaining to the alleged VVIP assignation plot will be revealed to the country in the near future.
The President added the investigative report by the Criminal investigations Department will be sent to the Attorney General’s Department in two weeks.
Former Chief of the Terrorist Investigations Division Deputy Inspector General of Police Nalaka De Silva is currently in remand custody over the VVIP assassination plot.
A comprehensive investigation was launched following revelations made to media by Operations Director Anti Corruption Force Namal Kumara last year.
