A 58-year-old resident of Ratmalana was found dead yesterday while receiving treatment at IDH Hospital for contracting the Corona virus.
He was admitted to the IDH hospital on the 16th and had visited with his wife recently in Velankanni, India.
His wife is also infected with the coronavirus and she has been admitted to IDH Hospital for treatment.
However, she has now recovered and left the hospital and self-quarantined.
There have been 151 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Sri Lanka so far and another patient has been discharged from the hospital today.
The Epidemiology Unit announced that twenty two patients have been cured.
Currently 125 patients infected with coronavirus are still receiving treatment in hospital.
The Epidemiology Unit stated that another 250 suspected coronavirus patients are under medical supervision.
Meanwhile, 163 people have been sent to quarantine engaged with hosted by the Swiss churchman, who is infected with the coronavirus in Ariyalai, Jaffna.
Four of the confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported from the Jaffna district and one is receiving treatment at the Jaffna Teaching Hospital.
The other three were reportedly in the Palaly Quarantine Center.
It has been revealed that all four were in attendance at the hosted by the Swiss churchman.
The Jaffna Hospital announced that 45 people who were tested for suspected coronavirus infection at the Jaffna hospital have not been infected with the virus.
Meanwhile, DIG Ajith Rohana said that the intelligence agencies have already uncovered a lot of information regarding the corona spread in the country.
He said investigations into the sources of the virus have begun.
