Kahatagaha Graphite miners’ hunger strike is intense
The deadly fast launched by workers at the Kahatagaha mine in Dodangaslanda continuing for the third consecutive day.
A group of workers at Kahatagaha Mine commenced a deadly fast yesterday morning amid several demands, including salary anomalies, allowances and leave.
About 60 workers joined the graphite mine of Graphite Lanka Limited as they began their deadly fast by going to the depths of 1132 feet.
The fasting workers say that if no solution is found, the miner’s mine will go down to 2,000 feet and the trade union action will be intensified.
