Operations at Katunayake BIA resume
The Sri Lanka Air Force Spokesman confirms that the road leading to the Bandaranaike International Airport has been opened.
Accordingly Airport operations have resumed.
Airport authorities temporarily suspended accepting passengers at the Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake, after a vehicle that raised suspicions was found at a parking lot in the area.
A section of the Sri Lanka-Canada Friendship Road, Katunayake has been closed after a vehicle that raised suspicions was found at a car park.
Airport correspondent said Air Force and Police were witnessed in the area.
Earlier in the day, Police said a minor explosion was reported at a vacant land adjacent to the premises of the Pugoda Magistrate’s Court.
Police Media Unit said no one has been reported injured, while claiming the cause of explosion has not been determined yet.
