Leader of the United National Party Ranil Wickremesinghe will take oath as the country’s Prime Minister once again today.
The United National Party said the oath taking ceremony will take place at 10am at the Presidential Secretariat.
This is the fifth time that Ranil Wickremesinghe will be sworn in as the country’s Prime Minister, becoming the only individual to have held the post as many times in Sri Lanka.
President Maithripala Sirisena on Friday via a phone call informed the UNP leader to take oath as Prime Minister following the recent Supreme Court verdicts and the resignation of the purported Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe was ousted on the 26th of October by President Maithripala Sirisena in an illegal and unconstitutional coup.
