The Department of Fisheries has advised to be cautious when fishing for one day and small boats.

Padmapriya, assistant director of the reconnaissance unit, said that the meteorological department has been informed that some sea areas around the island will be rough.

The speed of the wind may increase up to 70 to 80 km per hour in the deep sea areas from Kankesanthurai to Puttalam via Mannar.

The Meteorological Department stated that the sea areas are very rough.

Meanwhile, the Northeast Monsoon is gradually increasing across the country and is expected to be fully established by tomorrow (November 27).

The Department of Meteorology states that the prevailing rains will be intensified tomorrow.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Northern, North-central, Eastern and Northwestern provinces as well as in the Hambantota district. Showers or thundershowers will occur elsewhere after 1.00 pm.

Thundershowers will develop at several places in the Sabaragamuwa, Western, Central, Eastern and Northwestern provinces and in the Jaffna and Mullaitivu districts.
