Over 50% Of State Institutions Are Not In A Favourable State: Auditor General
Auditor General, Gamini Wijesinghe, said more than 50% of state institutions are not in a favourable state, according to the State Accounting Council’s report submitted to parliament.
Chairman of the State Accounting Council, Lasantha Alagiyawanna, submitted the report to parliament on Monday.The reports contain information of over 840 state institutions.
The Auditor General added that these unfavourable institutions are to be summoned before the committee in the near future. The Auditor General further noted that methodologies are being planned for these institutions to overcome their shortcomings. (newsfirst)
