CID ordered to arrest Thajudeen’s murderers
The Colombo Magistrate’s Court yesterday ordered the Criminal Investigations Department to arrest the suspects who carried out the murder of Wasim Thajudeen and order them to be produced before Court.
The order was issued by Colombo Additional Magistrate Isuru Neththikumara.
Three individuals have thus far been named as the suspects in the murder.
The suspects include former Chief Judicial Medical Officer Professor Ananda Samarasekara, former Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Anura Senanayake and former Officer in Charge of the Narahenpita Police Crimes Division Sumith Perera.
The suspects are accused of concealing evidence in the case.
Accordingly Court ordered the CID to arrest those who murdered Wasim Thajudeen.
Thajudeen was found dead on the 17th of May 2012 and at the time it was claimed that his vehicle met with an accident down Park Road, Narahenpita resulting in his death.
However investigations revealed he was murdered.
