Don’t criticize each other on political platforms, says new PM
The President has reportedly stated he had realized that working together with the UNP is strenuous within just one year.
A meeting, presided by the President Maithripala Sirisena, was held with the participation of the new Prime Minister and all parliamentarians representing the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA).
It was reported that the discussion has addressed the current political situation, which they said is similar to the political power exchange that was executed in Russia.
New Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has instructed all the parliamentarians not to criticize each other on political platforms and to work together as one group, according to MP Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena.
The President has given instructions to appoint a committee in order to inform the ambassadors of the current political situation in the country.
Following the discussion, MP Nishantha Muthuhettigamage stated that necessary measures will be implemented to retrieve the all the property that has been sold off.
