Unite to develop the country – President
President Maithripala Sirisena says all factions should unite to eradicate poverty and lead the country towards development despite various political differences.
Speaking at an event in Polonnaruwa President Sirisena said if all individuals fulfil their responsibilities and duties, development will not be a major challenge.
The Head of State noted those employed in the state sector should work the required number of hours daily, while those who are in the political sector should work with honesty free of fraud and theft.
President Sirisena stressed if all citizens attend respective duties and responsibilities the country’s development will not be a challenge.
The President meanwhile said the government is on a path to empower the public to be independent and contribute to development by instilling dependent mentality.
The Head of State noted a person’s individuality contributes to development.
