The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland has updated its travel advisory by easing the restrictions imposed on its citizens travelling to Sri Lanka following the Easter Sunday Attacks.
The updated advisory stated that travellers must be very vigilant about their personal safety while in Sri Lanka.
The travel advisory cautioned that the political and social tensions are high and it could trigger violent clashes at any time and throughout Sri Lanka.
It noted that from the 23rd of April, the State of Emergency has been in force in Sri Lanka to allow the government to take, if necessary, various measures such as restricting the freedom of assembly and circulation or to impose curfews.
Accordingly the Swiss Foreign Ministry advised it citizens to exercising caution while in Sri Lanka.
