‘Only a General Election can end political crisis‘
The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna says only a General Election can solve the present political stalemate.
Speaking at a media briefing Parliamentarian Rohitha Abeygunewardene said the public should make wise decisions in the event of elections.
The Parliamentarian meanwhile requested the United National Party and the JVP to face an election to allow the public to elect their representatives.
MP Prasanna Ranatunga was also present at the media briefing.
The MP noted the political instability has negatively affected the tourism industry, the economy, the state service and other sectors.
He stressed a crisis has been created pertaining to the legislature and the Constitution where the Court has intervened and the country is unstable.
MP Ranatunga said as a result investors refuse to invest in the country while more than 80% of the hotel bookings have been cancelled.
