Basil says they’ve learnt from past mistakes
Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa has urged the government to hold the Provincial Council Election under any electoral system.
Speaking at a rally of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna in Yatiyanthota yesterday Rajapaksa said shortcomings during their term in power have been identified and vowed to address them.
He said the Mattala Airport has been sold at present claiming even the group that bought over the Mattala Airport is hesitant to buy the entity.
The Former Minister claimed that Former President MP Mahinda Rajapaksa who rid the country of terrorism lost the GSP+ concession and charged that by enforcing the death penalty the present government is losing the GSP+ facility.
Commenting on the election Basil Rajapaksa urged the government to hold the election either under the old or new electoral system.
The Former Minister claimed the former government had many shortcomings adding they didn’t realise their concerns when they were in power.
He vowed to correct past mistakes and unite for the upcoming election.
