Cabinet allows importation of drugs without tenders to contain viral flu
The Cabinet approval has been granted to import medicine and other requirements to control the spread of viral flu without tender procedures.
The relevant Cabinet paper was submitted by President Maithripala Sirisena, when the Cabinet met at the Presidential Secretariat today (May 30).
So far around 12 children had died of the viral flu which is being spread in the South since last month.
It is reported around 4,00 patients, most of them are children, are being treated at hospitals.
The majority of cases are reported from Kamburupitiya, Walasmulla, and Tangalle.
