Coalition government must continue- Rajitha
Minister of Health Rajitha Senaratne today called on the President and the Prime Minister to continue in the coalition government despite the setback at the Local Authority Elections.
Speaking at the weekly Cabinet briefing, Minister Senaratne attributed the election loss to delay in punishing perpetrators during the past three years.
The Minister noted that the good governance government must expedite investigations into murders, large-scale corruption and misappropriation of funds reported during the tenure of the United People’s Freedom Alliance-led government.
Minister Rajitha Senaratne also predicted high-profile arrests in the near future. He also rejected calls for a change of Prime Minister in the country and said the present administration must focus on serving the public ahead of the next Presidential Election.
