‘Prioritise country before political parties’
The National Movement for a Just Society has reiterated its call for the implementation of policies which prioritise the country before political parties.
Speaking during an event in Kandy, Convenor of the Movement Venerable Dambara Amila Thera said the 2015 revolution resulted in many victories for the country.
Commending Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe for his decision to sacrifice his opportunity to contest the 2015 Presidential Elections, Venerable Dambara Amila Thera said political party supporters must also back the coalition government’s progressive decisions.
Venerable Dambara Amila Thera also expressed his views on the National Unity government and called for a policy based mechanism to reach greater heights.
Dambara Amila Thera noted that despite obstacles the national government must forge ahead for the betterment of the country.
The Thera stressed two parties that were unable to arrive at a consensus formed a National Unity Government adding therefore it should not be assumed that the government will operate smoothly without any clashes.
Dambara Amila Thera reiterated if the base and the structure of a country are changed in a positive manner, development of that country is not a challenge claiming however if the country is unstable regardless of many reforms the structure of that country will not change.
The Thera claimed efforts are underway to initiate a structural change.
