Sri Lanka Customs says that 241 containers of waste have arrived in the country in the last few years.
The Customs Trade Unions stated that 130 of them have been released and another 111 are still in the Colombo harbor.
This was revealed at a press conference held in Colombo.
Meanwhile the JVP expressed these views at a media briefing convened by this morning.
Parliamentarian Vijitha Herath has said that an amendment to the Finance Act when Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa served as President and Finance Minister has allowed the waste to enter the country without any inspection.
