Parliamentarian Vasudeva Nanayakkara says a No-Confidence Motion cannot be tabled against a group of Ministers for voting in parliament following a party decision.
Commenting on the No-Confidence Motion tabled against the SLFP members, MP Vasudeva Nanayakkara said, the coalition partners must resolve the matter within the government.
MP Nanayakkara said, the decision was taken with the consent of the President.
The MP noted that this was a party decision and that the Party led by President Maithripala Sirisena decided to vote in favour of the motion and another group decided to abstain from voting and this party has an agreement with the UNP to form the national government.
The MP added that this vote cannot end in a no-confidence stating that it was decided with the consent of the President.
MP Nanayakkara further noted that this should be resolved within the government adding that Ministers cannot take responsibility for this vote.
