The JVP says following lengthy discussions the party has nominated its Presidential Candidate with the support of over 30 political and non-political factions.
JVP Parliamentarian Bimal Rathnayake while rejecting reports of an internal conflict said the party followed a democratic process when electing its candidate for the upcoming Presidential Election.
He said the nomination process was based on policies and noted that the candidate was a unanimous choice.
MP Bimal Rathnayake also accused the United National Party and the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna of disregarding the issues faced by the public.
He said both the UNP and the SLPP are focused only on securing governing power.
