Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says the time is apt to modernise Sri Lanka’s economy.
Speaking during an event in Colombo today, Prime Minister Wickremesinghe said the country must be transformed into a skills-driven export-oriented economy.
The Premier stressed that despite numerous challenges, the present administration has managed to increase the revenue of the general public.
Premier Wickremesinghe stressed the need for the country’s economy to be revolutionized adding the country was no longer a low-income country such as Bangladesh.
The Prime Minister claimed the country’s revenue needed to be increased by focusing on skills development.
The Premier added the government’s attention had been drawn to transform the country’s economy into a export-driven economy.
Prime Minister Wickremesinghe noted there were several issues pertaining to the country’s economy however claimed however regardless of any issues the government had increased the income of the public from 50% to 100%.
