Public attentive to actions on law & order – MR
Former President MP Mahinda Rajapaksa says the public is paying close attention to steps being taken by the Ministry of Law and Order.
Speaking to media during a visit to the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy the former President said regardless of who is appointed as the Minister of Law and Order what is important is that law and order in the country is upheld.
The Former President said the post has been given to a well-known, senior Minister, an experienced Minister and a peaceful one.
MP Rajapaksa noted he hopes the now Minister of Law and Order does not work for political gains and works to ensure law and order.
The MP stressed they would not be concerned even if Former Army Commander Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka was appointed the Minister of Law and Order.
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa also said a series of violent incidents occurred as a result of the failure to take legal measures with regard to a minor incident in Kandy.
