However, Minister of Sports Harin Fernando has left a tweet on his Twitter account saying that the reports that India pressurized to prevent Sri Lankan cricketers from joining the tour of Pakistan is false.

The Minister of Sports, Harin Fernando said that Sri Lanka has a strong reserve and is looking to defeat Pakistan in Pakistan.
No truth to reports that India influenced Sri Lankan players not to play in Pakistan. Some decided not to play purely based on 2009 incident. Respecting their decision we picked players who were willing to travel. We have a full strength team & we hope to beat Pakistan in Pakistan
