Sri Lanka’s first match in the 2019 Cricket World Cup is to be played today in Cardiff, England Vs New Zealand.
Lahiru Thirimanne is to be appointed as the opening batsman with New Zealand, Dimuth Karunaratne said.
The Sri Lankan captain said that Avishka Fernando will be uncertain about playing today match. In the second ODI against Scotland, Avishka Fernando was injured. However, Karunaratne said that his condition has now recovered.
Sri Lanka and New Zealand have played 10 matches in the Cricket World Cup history and Sri Lanka have won six matches. New Zealand has won only four matches.
