Thewarapperuma ready to quit MP Seat
Former Minister of Wildlife Conservation, Palitha Thewarapperuma has informed UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe that he is prepared to vacate his seat until the inquiry is over, if he has done something wrong in Parliament.
He has said that he can make any sacrifice for the sake of democracy and for the party’s activities.
Some blame me for saying that I came to Parliament with a knife. But I did not bring a knife to Parliament.
I also took the action to protect the dignity of the Parliament and the Speaker, such as a knife used to open the letters of the Speaker. If I had a knife in my hand, the situation is different.
Whatever the case, SLPP the blame me now. Therefore, I told our leader that if my delegation were to be abolished and investigations would be carried out, they would have to be investigated. MP post is not big to me.
I can make that dedication for democracy. However, it can not be prevented that I will definitely come to Parliament from the next general election.
